Problems upgrading firmware SODAQ SARA N211 AFF

I’m trying to upgrade the firmware of my SODAQ SARA N211 AFF using UEUpdaterUI.
However, I don’t succeed. UEUpdaterUI stops after 10 seconds trying.

Any idea what’s going wrong?

You might have to reset the module manually for it to work, that did the trick for me.

thanks for the hint. I already tried this however without success

I always get:

Trying to reset UE using bootloader commnds…
Trying to reset UE using AT command…

after 10 seconds:
Failed. Timed out trying to establish connection.

Now besides I can’t upgrade the firmware my earlier firmware doesn’t work anymore. Even using the passthrough sketch entering AT commands doesn’t work anymore!!!

I hope my board isn’t permanently broken!?
I read some other (similar) postings on the forum and this makes me anxious! I really cant’ afford spending €114,95 for a board and after normal use the board is broken (never had that before with other boards)!
I just tried performing a firmware after receiving an email from SODAQ on 21 dec: “Update your N211 firmware to the latest version.” using the mentioned instructions!

Hi @guyd,

Did you already manage to update your board?

Before you load your passthrough sketch.
Can you remove or comment this line on the top of the sketch #define R4XX.
Can you check that your IDE still has the correct board selected to compile for?

After installing the UEUpdater, did you reboot your pc?
Did you start the tool as administrator?

Let me know when you still have issues.
If you module is indeed broken we have to replace it for you.

Best regards,
Jan

Hi @Jan,

Thanks. Please see inline.

Did you already manage to update your board? -> No

Before you load your passthrough sketch.
Can you remove or comment this line on the top of the sketch #define R4XX. -> OK, no change still doesn’t work
Can you check that your IDE still has the correct board selected to compile for? -> SODAQ SARA ON COM5

After installing the UEUpdater, did you reboot your pc? > Yes
Did you start the tool as administrator? -> Can’t run as administrator (even when trying to change permissions via the Properties, Run as Administrator is greyed out).

Best regards,
Guy

Hi @Jan,

Anything else I can try?
If not, can my board, as you mentioned, be replaced?

Thx.
