[Problem] Connecting SODAQ One with LoRa-shield to LoRaWAN

Dear,

After starting with the basics of the SODAQ One with LoRaWAN. I found myself a problem. After registering the device, network, application and receiving the generated keys in hex/ C - style. I put them in the APB section of the basic LoRaWAN arduino code and then I uploaded it to my SODAQ. I start up the Serial Monitor and then receive the following message “There was no response from the device.Communication to LoRaBEE failed!” Well I double checked the codes if they were not mirrored, but the codes were entered correct. Well I was thinking wat could be the problem: the only thing I can think about there is no LoRa coverage from a Gateway, but it should have give the message no connection. Anyone else knows what the problem can be? Lookinf forward to a solution to this.

BTW: I kept the #define BEE_VCC 20 --> well when I see the schematic idk if it’s different on the Sodaq One.

Greetings Sander

Dear Sander,

On the Sodaq one the vcc pin is always connected.

You are talking about an sodaq board + lora-shield
Do you mean a Sodaq Autonomo with LoRaBee ?

Can you try this sketch:
http://support.sodaq.com/sodaq-one/loraone-lora-basic-sketch/

Put in your keys and select the correct Sodaq board under Tools->board in your IDE

Jan

It’s a SODAQ One with ONE-US-RN2903 https://shop.sodaq.com/nl/one-us-rn2903.html
Well the problem could be that ï’m using the wrong board manager or what… But I’m using the ExpLoRer as it appears at my port…

Dear Sander,

The Arduino IDE shows the first board with this chip in the list.
When you install the Sodaq boards it’s always a Sodaq Explorer.
If you install the Arduino Zero files, this will change to Arduino Zero.

You can check if you use the correct board files url here:
http://support.sodaq.com/sodaq-one/sodaq-one/
Correct boardfiles: http://downloads.sodaq.net/package_sodaq_samd_index.json

The issue could be that you use an older rn2483 library.

Can you update the required libraries?
Sketch -> Include library -> Manage libraries…
Install “Sodaq_RN2483” and “Sodaq_wdt”

Use #include <Sodaq_RN2483.h> and not #include “Sodaq_RN2483.h”

Jan

I have the wdt and RN file included that isn’t the issue. Still have no response.

Hi Sander,

Can you disconnect any power source?
Reconnect the usb, open the serial monitor. ( do NOT upload the code again )

Does it work after the power cycle?

Regards,
Jan

I tried reconnecting the power supply and it didn’t work

Hi Sander,

Can you send me an email; jan@sodaq.com
Maybe I can have a look with teamviewer to check all the settings with you.

Regards,
Jan

Yeah will do, thanks in advance

Problem is solved!!!

What ended up being the problem?

I know this is an old thread but I also have the same problem. What ended up being the problem?

It was a power input problem, needed more power.
